Who We Are

Owners Stephanie Satow-Higinio and husband Shaka Magarada Higinio opened Generations Jewelers in Galveston in August of 2021. Our business started with Stephanie’s dream of owning her own jewelry store. Stephanie began her career in the industry as a child alongside her father, Steve Satow, a Master Jeweler. 

Since 2021, Generations Jewelers has grown and become well-known on the island for our quality jewelry repair, custom jewelry designs, beautiful selection of jewelry, and, most importantly, our integrity in the industry. 

We take pride in being a family-owned and family-oriented business. Each of our valuable employees has become a member of our family as well. 

About us: 

Stephanie Satow-Higinio 💍 is third generation in the jewelry industry. She began learning from her father, Steve Satow, a master jeweler, as a child. She graduated from New Approach School for Jewelers in 2007. She has also attended GIA and is an Accredited Jewelry Professional. Stephanie won the prestigious 2011 Johnson Matthey Sustainable Design Award. 

Shaka Magarada Higinio 🌐 is co-owner, head of marketing, and a driving force behind Generations Jewelers' digital presence. A proud Belizean and cultural ambassador, Shaka specializes in Caribbean and African jewelry styles. Most notably, he is a seasoned computer programmer and data scientist, offering freelance AI app development and consulting. Through their sister company, Be Belize Company LLC, he amplifies the brand's global visibility while keeping community and culture at the forefront.

Keziah 📸 has been with us since almost the beginning. She is the go-to for product photography and front-of-house charm. As a proud BOI (Born on the Island), she brings local flair to everything she touches. 

Justin 💎 is our lead sales associate and usually the runner-up employee of the month, to Moose. Justin works closely with each customer and forms lasting bonds with all of our clients. His southern charm adds a welcoming feeling the minute you walk in the door.
